DUI Alternative Detention
Persons convicted of a traffic offense involving alcohol and/or drugs may be allowed a court order to serve their jail time at Tacoma Detoxification Center.

The alternative DUI program consists of informational sessions and observation of people in alcohol and drug withdrawal, which will increase your awareness of the problems your drinking and or use of other drugs cause you and society in general.
You must call between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon. – Fri. at (253) 284-7833 to schedule your detention time.
Detention time must be served prior to completion date on your court order. Sessions are available every day of the week.
Only persons with medical emergencies or military orders may reschedule for free (verification will be required), for others there will be a $50.00 fee to reschedule. The program costs are $252.00 per day.
