Prospective Students
1. Find out if you qualify to be a part of the program.
How do I qualify?
You qualify if you:
Are a first generation student – meaning neither parent/guardian has a four-year college degree.
OR
Are low-income – Students’ families must meet the Department of Education income guidelines.
OR
Show academic potential – students must have the ability and willingness to study and apply themselves to obtain their academic goals.
AND
Attend one of the schools TS or CB serves.
2. Contact an adviser and Apply for the program.
To apply you must be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate a willingness to pursue a college education.

Adult Volunteers
In addition to master’s-level instructors and partnerships with post-secondary educational institutions, MDC Scholars Talent Search program are so transformative for our students because of the support and participation of parents and other community members. There are many ways to get involved in each of these programs, none of which require significant time commitments. You can be a part of their success in a way no one else can.
Here are a few example opportunities:
- Volunteer to chaperone a field trip
- Attend an Advisory Board meeting
