Founded in 1964 as a non-profit Community Action Agency, MDC responds to community needs by providing services in the areas of healthcare, housing, education, and employment that address the challenges faced by low-income individuals and families.

MDC serves 26,000 people each year.

MDC offers behavioral health services for economically disadvantaged and homeless members of our community. Our substance abuse treatment and dual disorder counseling services are available on a sliding payment scale for everyone.

MDC owns and manages 230 units of housing for homeless and low-income families and individuals, with three housing service models offered throughout Pierce County.
