Middle school and high school are hard enough without the pressure of planning for the future. MDC helps low-income, first-generation students graduate high school and enroll in college. Through specialized programs, students in grades 6-12 learn the skills they need in order to access opportunities that allow for their growth and achievement.
MDC offers two mentorship programs that help young learners plan for life beyond high school.
The Talent Search program supports students in grades 6-12 as they learn about college, financial aid, and career opportunities through after school information sessions.
The Upward Bound program counsels high school students through college applications, financial aid, and career opportunities.
Both programs are funded through the Federal TriO program designed to motivate and support students experiencing disadvantages.
