ENERGY ASSISTANCE
The Energy Assistance Program helps income qualified residents living inside the City Limits of Tacoma with their heating and energy costs. The program will also provide education on energy conservation and refer you to our Weatherization Assistance Program so they can help you make your home safe, healthier, comfortable and more energy efficient.
*Note: MDC has reached the limits for the shelter assistance benefit for this program year ending in Sep. 2024. Funding for the primary energy assistance benefit for applicants is still available (see below for definition of urgent).

Getting Started
Documents you will need to upload:
✓ Picture ID for all household members (Ages 18+)
✓ Social Security cards for all household members of all ages.
✓ Proof of income for the last month (including paystubs, unemployment, fixed income or other documents that indicate your gross income)
✓ Last month’s utility bill or account number
